Prachatai interviewed members of the Network of Family Members and People Affected by the Lese Majeste Law during their public launch at the 14 Oct Memorial on 7 July. Interviewees include Sukanya Prueksakasemsuk, Keechiang Thaweewarodomkul, Pranee Danwattananusorn and Rosmalin Tangnoppakul.

Somyos is not a political
Somyos is not a political prisoner - his publication "Voice of Taksin" was written for, by, and of billionaire mass murderer Thaksin Shinawatra and served as a platform to make specific threats of violence against Thaksin's political opponents. This included threatening the lives of judges ruling on Thaksin's cases, then providing their phone numbers and home addresses, thus jeopardizing the lives of their friends and family as well.
This is a criminal act that would land you decades in jail in ANY nation. For Prachatai (US State Department funded claptrap
) to continue portraying him as a political prisoner is absolutely disgusting and truly telling of their "journalistic integrity - no more journalists than Somyos is a "political prisoner."
Just like the bogus "Nitirat" movement, this is yet another not so cleverly disguised tentacle of Thaksin Shinawatra Inc.

These are the brave ones. The ones with no choice left but to be brave, to confront their fears. And it's wonderful to see them do so and for Prachatai to have given them the opportunity to do so here. And given all of us the opportunity to witness the birth and growth of their courage and their doing for themselves what no one else will, or can do for them.
But that the fear they are in the process of overcoming is the stupifying norm in Thai society has got to send a shiver up and down all of our spines. The reign of the hyper-royalists in Thailand is truly a reign of terror. All of Thailand shrinks terrified before them and their threat of a charge/sentence of lese majeste, for they are one and the same.
It is thus by keeping Thais atomized, too terrified of the Royal Inquisition to come together and make common cause against their oppressors, that the rule of the hyper-royalists is maintained.
These brave and infinitely admirable souls have come together, polymerizing, to help themselves and their family members; but the example they set in doing so will help all Thais, everyone in Thailand, to confront and to overcome their own terror of their royalist oppressors.
So while the needless suffering of these families at the merciless hands of the hyper-royal, terrorist 'elite' is so heartrending to behold, their courage and spirit in coming together, to help themselves when absolutely no one else in Thailand will, not even the government they elected to do exactly that, is inspiring, and will surely form the basis of much broader, grassroots organization of a much broader swathe of the people themselves which will provide the only means of real victory over their oppressors. Only the people themselves have their own interests at heart.
It is inspirational to see these ordinary Thais standing up and standing together, to bravely do for themselves what everyone else is too terrified to do, in even the most symbolic way.

Thaksin and the foreign interests that created and perpetuate him politically - Wall Street and London - are every much as bit as the tyrannical elitists you claim the "royalists" are. Throwing Somyos in jail - for example - only sounds "terrible" until someone actually picks up his publication "Voice of Taksin" and realizes it is filled with threats of violence that would land you in jail in even the most progressive nation.
These are not political prisoners, they are thugs and terrorists working for a billionaire mass murderer hiding in Dubai.
