Soldiers stormed into a red-shirt TV station and warned a Pheu Thai Party spokesperson to be careful in criticising the junta.

About 10 soldiers at around 3 pm on Tuesday, 31 May 2016, stormed into the broadcasting station in Bangkok of TV 24, a TV station affiliated with United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), the main red shirt faction associated with Thaksin Shinawatra, the former controversial Prime Minister, Khaosod News reported.

At the station, the soldiers had a discussion with Anusorn Iamsa-ard, Acting Deputy Spokesperson of the Pheu Thai Party, for about an hour.

The soldiers warned Anusorn about criticising the government, saying that criticisms against the military government might stir political conflicts and create a ‘bad political environment’.

They also ask him to give the government under Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, the junta leader and Prime Minister, the opportunity to work, Khaosod reported.

In November 2015, Anusorn was summoned by the military for a discussion at the 1st Army Region Division in Bangkok.

He was summoned after he criticised the statement of Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, the Defence Minister, about the construction of Rajabhakti Park, a royal theme park featuring gigantic monuments of seven prominent past monarchs in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province of central Thailand, which was rife with corruption.
