When spring has sprung

Memo

To: Central Politburo, Thai Spring

From: Acting Temporary Director, Foreign Relations Section

Re: International Reaction

In response to our Dear Leaders’ wise and far-seeingcommand to report on the response in foreign countries to our Dear Leaders’ moving and eloquent Open Letter from Concerned Thai Citizens, it is with undying love and loyalty for our Dear Leaders that we respectfully report the following.

The mass of democratic nations across the globe has greeted the clarion call of Our Dear Leaders as expressed in the aforementioned stirring and articulate Open Letter with overwhelming and resoundingly positive approval as can be seen from their complete and utter silence on the issue.  Democratic peoples around the world have been rendered speechless in their admiration for the compelling and convincing arguments advanced by our Dear Leaders, resulting in the zero hits our google searches keep coming up with.

Sadly, the tiny reactionary renegade clique masquerading as Red in USA has been traitorously duped and suborned into protesting our Dear Leaders’ Open Letter. Our valiant efforts will, however, be unending in getting their website shut down (we met this guy in the North Korean Embassy who says he can do it for us).

In closing we extol to the heavens the brilliant leadership and omniscient foresight of our Dear Leaders that has guided us to this happy and joyous outcome.

PS.  I still have no clear answer about when my position will be formalized and I can start receiving a salary.

Re: Report on International Reaction

Our Dear Leaders in their infinite wisdom instruct me to respond to your report, which contained no information that our Dear Leaders had not already anticipated, the righteousness of our cause being manifest to all right-thinking persons, and to inform you that snivelling self-serving appeals for monetary remuneration is typical of the deviant un-Thai behaviour of the Unwashed Hordes led by the Great Traitor.  You are therefore dismissed, blacklisted, and will never beemployed by the Forces of Truth again.

Re: Parliamentary Compliance

To achieve the situation so clearly and forcefully expressed in our Dear Leaders’ Open Letter which claims that MPs in Thailand ‘are no different from members of the Communist Party of North Korea’, it has been our heartfelt goal to create this situation by persuading all opposition MPs to sacrifice their seats and resign for the greater good of our glorious movement.

Despite our ever-vigilant efforts, however, we have thus far failed to achieve the appearance of single-party dictatorship in Thailand as correctly and rightfully described by our Dear Leaders.  But rest assured that in our unshakable faith in our Dear Leaders’ far-seeing vision, we shall not cease from endless toil until we have achieved a one-party state in the interests of democracy.

PS.  I am very happy to continue working without salary until our Dear Leaders deem me fit to be paid.

Re: Report on Parliamentary Compliance

Our Dear Leaders require me to express their profound disappointment and distress with your lack of progress, clearly the result of infiltration by lickspittle lackeys of the Great Traitor.  You will report to the Thai Spring Salt Mines,Kantharawichai District, Maha Sarakham Province for immediate reassignment.

Re: Portraits

With respect to ensuring ‘the omnipresence of portraits of the leader’ in all homes, government offices, workplaces, roadsides, parks, modes of transport and public conveniences, following the model of North Korea, as so presciently claimed by our Dear Leaders, we respectfully report the following progress.

As a result of malevolent machinations by the running dogs of the Great Traitor and his Evil Sister, many right-thinking misguided citizen-conspirators have refused to display pictures of the Sinister Siblings, and have argued that theirred-shirt renegade neighbours must remove theirs (in the few cases where these exist).

We have however achieved 100% success in spending our budget on printing portraits and although we have yet to persuade anyone to stick up these pictures, we have had more success in getting them to make space by removing other portraits that were previously displayed.
