Why does Sondhi think the Thai king "counts" on him? Has Bhumibol specifically asked this man to "protect" him? I thought the Thai king said he wanted to be criticised?

Am I right in saying Sondhi disagrees with the king for wanting to be criticised? Isn't this lese majeste? How exactly does one register a complaint against someone else for lese majeste? Just curious.
