Not that it could mitigate

Not that it could mitigate the injustice of it all, but does anyone know exactly what he was supposed to have done?

Hopefully that is not too insensitive a question, but it might help others know what line cannot not be crossed.

I imagine artists would also be concerned about how far they can take their'artistic impressions'?

A pardon seems like the only option now - which raises the question does foreign outrage help, or hinder, that process?

I expect the authorities would like to see him forgotten, rotting away in jail, so I suppose foreign attention could at least keep him in focus, and become a festering sore to the 'image' that is trying to be uphelp to foreigners, but of course they want to send a different 'message' to the local population.

Again, I hope this post is not too insensitive.
